Advice Please - Orange ongoing dispute

Any one any ideas?
I have a late payment of 3 months showing on my credit report for a communications company (orange broadband) at an address I previously lived at. I had moved from the property and had a mail redirection but was never contacted by them to repay this amount until receiving a demand to my parents address 3 months after moving!! They made no attempt to contact me. I had contacted them on moving and organised closure and full payment of the account and was told this was settled in full. How can I remove this from my file as the error was an administrative one by their company and not due to me being unable or unwilling to pay the outstanding balance (to memory was less than £40.00). This is having a HUGE negative impact on my credit score and I need to know how to resolve this.
Thanks :rotfl:

How recently was this? When was it that they wrote to you at your parents address?

Sounds like your starting point should be to contact Orange, remind them that you cancelled and paid your contract on X date.

Ask them to confirm that there is no balance outstanding and to correct their entry on your credit file to remove the late payments and to show a 0 balance outstanding.
