asda credit card

i have a credit card with asda always make my payment early today when i read my statement i was charged a 12 pound late payment fee.I rang the company and was told my payment was to early before the new statement was generated!!! in future I will never ever make an early payment i requested them to take the late payment fee off but they declined !

  • Set up a direct debit then this will never happen again. Either for the full, minimum or a set amount each month.

    Next time, if it's something that you aren't entitled to, ask nicely instead of requesting.

    Also, read the T&C that clearly say that at least a minimum payment has to be made after the statement date and before the due date.

    If you paid the full balance before the statement date and the statement balance was £0, then there would be no any payment due.

    Unfortunately this is the risk when you don't use a credit card how it's intended. There's zero advantage to paying early.

    Wait for the statement and then pay it. Easy.

    That's disappointing. I've seen many people posting here to say that they've been refunded a fee after a first offence. Perhaps you spoke with a particularly grumpy person
