Just A Few Questions Please

Hi

Thanks for posting the details for newbies, however I hope someone wouldn't mind clarifying things for me.

I got a parking fine ticket in a car park in Darlington thats not connected to any shops. I had an upturned ticket on my dashboard (they don't provide a sticky backing to attach to windscreen) so the details of the ticket weren't on display.

My understanding is that I would first send a letter/email complaint to the land owner.

But, do I wait till I get a NTK through the post before I do anything/send the letter of appeal, to the parking company or do I send a copy of the ticket with an explanation within 21 days as they state on the notice?

And as I have a ticket would I still just send the generic/standard letter?

Thanks

    Which PPC please?

In most cases the advice is, following a windscreen PCN, to await the NtK - but with some smaller PPCs sometimes we suggest an earlier appeal, as we do if the car is a lease, hire or loan vehicle.

Ignore their 21 days deadline, unless the driver is appealing, but much safer for the keeper to appeal after receipt of the NtK.

You can get on with finding out who the landowner is and getting a complaint off to them while waiting for the NtK.
