Can't OK Firefox preferences window on Ubuntu

One of the problems with the vertical strip of icons on this GUI encroaching onto the screen means that you have to fully enlarge windows that you need to OK, if that button is situated at the very bottom. As you can see from the screen print this option isn't available, and furthermore it isn't possible to drag the window any further north - it just wants to stop where it is!

The keyboard Enter key does the same job as the close button in that dialog. There aren't any other options below the location bar setting (in version 34.0).0

Try Alf+F7 that is the move option, move the hand a bit up voila, or right click on the window masthead HTH0

Depending on the version of Firefox, if you enter
about:preferences
in the address bar (then enter)
you may be able to get to the alternative way to access preferences, which is more like a web page in a tab and so scrollable.

I'm using 30.0 and although that does scroll, it only goes as far as yours does in your pic.Depending on the version of Firefox, if you enter

Thanks, both of those worked a treat. Now I know what Graham was on about when he told me how to close it! This problem is one of terminology, because if you look at the Topcashback instructions in the screenpic in the OP, it tells you to click 'OK', yet there is no such button.Try Alf+F7 that is the move option, move the hand a bit up voila, or right click on the window masthead HTH
I did switch to Chrome in order to clear cookies as Topcashback's cookie needs to be the last one before going to the vendor site. When I did the test tracking, it says it works, yet the cookie symbol in the address bar says cookies have not been set. How can this be?

That's as far as it can go.
You don't need a close or OK button with that way of doing it.
You just change the settings you want then close the browser tab.
It's one option.
Mozilla are looking to switch to that way of doing the options by default sometime, and doing away with the separate settings window.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Ah! I see.
There is no "OK" button on linux Firefox builds.
There is a close button, but you can just close the window any other way you can to do the same thing.
You don't need to click any OK to apply any changed settings.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
