Sorry, I know this probably isn't the right place to post this and I'm not sure exactly how to explain it.
I am just really pleased that I have managed to write some code using Google Scripts (Javascript) to help me keep my bank account running smoothly.
I keep a track of all utilities/bills/rent in a Google spreadsheet which me and my boyfriend have access to. It adds up our exact bills every month, with our share (which is not 50/50 as we pay for different things).
I've always been really good at keeping on top of the spreadsheet, updating it when needed and checking regularly to see what has gone out and pick up on any larger-than-expected bills. But my partner is rubbish.
I ask him every payday to put in a certain amount. He has spreadsheet access but always asks me so I end up having to dig it out.
I've just written a script in GS that automatically emails him how much he needs to pay, on his payday. It emails him at 9am and 9pm on payday and then the evening after too.
Sorry if this is a weird post. I'm happy to share the code I have written, but it specifically works with my spreadsheet. I'm also happy to send an empty spreadsheet to anyone and help them set it up through Google Docs. Give me a message if you want help.
I know there are probably services out there that do this already, but it's so easy using Google Drive as I already use it.
Here is the code: http://pastebin.com/9DTqxmPC
