Letter Before Action to your electrician. You can find a template online or get a solicitor to knock one up.

Would you go trading standards or small claims? Where can I get a template from?

Disconnect the electric and take he fuse box with me. Saves hassle! Mate just moved in a place last Friday to find previous owner had taken the boiler with them!
  • A new facebook page has been created (Elecsa Certsure Corruption) to provide a public forum for disclosing poor ethics and conduct of Competent Persons schemes. Following a disclosure of shocking documents by some sort of whistle blower - anyone who is a member of ELECSA/CERTSURE needs to question the value of the CERTSURE, ELECSA and NICEIC brands because it appears to disregard the public in favour of supporting its fee paying members and is unlikely to sustain public confidence. It also seems evident that 'special relationships' exist with a few select contractors who get preferential treatment / first refusal of insurance / platinum promise based' work.

The competent persons schemes are controversial at the best of times, but clearly the DCLG needs to re-evaluate their place in the industry if they are to show blatant disregard for the public and encourage corruption/unfairness in the allocation of tenders within the industry.

Check out the evidence in the face book page (Elecsa-Certsure-Corruption) and feel free to comment/like and stand up to the competent persons schemes.

Please add evidence and experiences to this forum where these schemes have behaved unethically.
