Unkowningly (partially) parked on a zigzag line momentarily

Options
Hi everyone,

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yesterday I was moving flats and had to park in a bay momentarily to unload a TV and take it into the house. I saw a parking spot which could almost fit my car, but thanks to the car in front not having parked very well, would leave my car's rear wheel outside of the marking.

I exercised common sense and saw that parking there would cause no inconvenience to anyone, so I stopped there, took the TV out and got back in the car. All in all it must've taken me 6-8 minutes.
To my surprise, when I got back in the car I had a council PCN with contravention code 99: parking on a pedestrian crossing or zig zag lines.

Now, being foreign and driving a foreign vehicle, I actually didn't know zig zag lines where so restricted. This is my fault, of course. Nonetheless, I did exercise common sense, which may also have been a mistake.

I tried checking online to see if the PCN had any images attached to it, but it's still not showing any images (it's been just about 24h), so I will try again tomorrow.
However, I did take my own. For example: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1977230/IMG_5688.JPG - My car is the grey Peugeot.

You can also see the bay here, with the lines clearer. My car was parked where that black Micra is.

I realise that I may have been in the wrong, but this happening in Islington, London, means it's a £130 fine, with a £65 concession if I pay now.
I really, really, really don't want to have to pay £65 for no reasonable motive, since I was only there for a few minutes and was causing no trouble to anyone.

Are there any legal grounds on which I can challenge this PCN? I have a proof that I was unloading the car momentarily, but I'm not sure how to approach this.

Would really appreciate any advice you may have.

Cheers

    Get on over to http://forums.pepipoo.com/

Being foreign is no defence of your ignorance of the law, however the folk at the above site may well be able to assist.

Also 6-8 minutes is not momentary.

EDIT - I see you have posted there already.
