How many hotels constitute "many branches" and do you mean the greater London area?

Premier Inn (PI)can be "reassuringly expensive" unless you book well in advance. There are many hotels who charge well over £500 a night most I have paid was £300 in a PI during the Olympics in 2012..
Other brands to look at are Thistle, Park Inn, Best Western, IBIS, Mecure, Holiday Inn..

    Which London?

Some of the London's relevant to the Overseas Forum don't even have five branded hotels to begin with!

I think looking by brand will not help. I stay in a Marriott each week. For London there is a large number of hotels but they range from £63 to £419 per night
  • The most expensive hotels in London are not the branded ones anyway.

The priciest chains in London would be no different to those in Glasgow or Manchester

    (A) what is "all over"

    (B) Do you count groups like Starwoods, Hilton, Dorchester etc which have a host of brands but are ultimately the same group

    (C) Are you meaning the average price inc their budget brands or peak for their upper brands (ie Hilton -v- Hamptons by Hilton)

If you really do mean across greater London then there arent that many to choose from and probably Hilton but they are very business orientated including their two higher places like Wardorf and Park Lane.

Starwoods have 7 hotels but they are all central or Heathrow but you are still talking only £350/ night in their higher end/ more trendy places

There are some higher end ones like the Dorchester Collection or Maybourne Group that have 2-3 places in central London and you start getting to £500 a night

Prices based on 1 night on 8 June 2016
