2 Quotes on decoration and separate one for gloss

Hi

I wanted to ask the expert decorators on here for their quotes for decorating 3 rooms:

10 x16 - Bedroom one (Paint over wallpaper, 3 sides only, one to be fitted with wardrobe) Put light in ceiling (was at side, and attach a supplied light fitting) Also remove wallpaper from ceiling, filler and paint.
10 x16 - Bedroom two (Strip wallpaper, make walls good with polyfilla and paint, again 3 sides only, one wall to be fitted with wardrobe) Put ceiling light in centre again. Also remove wallpaper from ceiling, plasterboard and paint.
9x8 - Bedroom three (Strip walls, make good, one wall plastered, all painted white) Put ceiling light in centre again.Remove wallpaper from ceiling, plasterboard and paint.

In the two main rooms, there were old wall to wall wardrobes so he took these out and replaced them with the flat packed variety.

Can any decorator please give me a quote for the above including material (paint and plasterboard)?
Or a range, or please ask me more questions?

Also how much would it be to gloss the woodwork (no sanding has been done, only lick of paint which they supplied):
10x16 - Bedroom one - Paint window ledge and the 3 sides of skirting boards (one had wardrobe fixed against it)
10x16 - Bedroom Two - Paint 3 sides of skirting board only (one had wardobe fixed against it)
9x8 - Bedroom Three (Paint all 4 sides of skirting board only)

When I asked why the builder why he hadn't touched the walls behind the wardrobes, he said as the wardrobes are put in front there is no need for this and thought I was being cheeky??? Huh is there only 3 sides to a room in a builders logbook when there are wardrobes to be fitted?? The wardrobes are flat packed ones and are not wall to wall, so has left bare unpainted cracked wall in Bedroom 2, whereas he did paint the little gap in Bedroom 1, is this usual?

Also he gave me a quote for the first lot of decoration, and after much thought, I said yes and did not quibble on the price as he was recommended by someone. He even took me to the flat pack place to pick the wardrobes up in his van. Then before he finished rooms 2 and 3, he said do you want the gloss work done, I said yes thinking it would be about an extra days work. Then after all was completed in his mind (one foot bare wall still left untouched and clearly visible to everyone) he gave me a bill for half as much as the first bill. I told him that he didn't give me the estimate beforehand like with the previous one and that it was nearly as half as much as the original quote, he said that he did do the work and a lot more, and is actually over 500 pounds out of pocket, and if I only pay him for what we agreed, he'd be paying himself only 60 pounds a day.

Do you have to pay builders for not charging enough in the first place?
I must admit, I did think his first bill was high!! He said before he gave me the first estimate, that he isn't there to rip me off?? I'm not sure now??

Once I get your estimates, I'll let you know how much he did charge (and how much I paid!!)

Thanks
Samantha (Naive new houseowner)
p.s. I saved every penny to get a house (stamp duty, solicitor cost, minimal furniture) and now I think he is just trying to rip me off as I got a nice 3 bedroom semi 100% mortgaged with a garden!!

IF your not happy with the work you can refuse to pay him the rest , i wouldnt think twice about not paying someone if they did a really bad job...i would be more then willing to go to court if it came to it :D
