Looking to buy a selfie stick as Christmas stocking filler. Are the cheap ones any good. Can buy from as little as £5 but don't just want to buy rubbish. Eg this one on ebay costs £8.96 Anyone with any experience of them? I don't really know what Im looking for.

If you dont know what your looking for i have to ask do you really need one.
I think you will use it once and then it will end up in the bin or the charity shops will be awash with them.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I have the same item( or very very similar) , it was a give away gift at an expo
Works just fine and more substantial than that price would suggest0 -
I bought one for my daughter that was on offer for about £7 from here and when it came we had a quick test and it does the job. I think they might be a bit of a fad like forgotmyname says as I can't see people carrying them around.
I would say the cheap ones are fine, selfies are meant to look home made so you don't want some expensive device like a tripod with stability etc

I saw loads of asian girls using these in Paris, I just thought that it was a perfect way to offer your iphone to all the pickpockets that were around!
