Price of parking in Venice or Treviso

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. We have just had a quote from our hotel regarding a transfer from Treviso airport for 35 euros which will probably be 40 euros with the tip.
The taxi/transfer at the moment looks like 40 euros each way plus 20 euros x 2 to the train station and back. 120 euros in taxis total

Our other option is to hire the car from day one although it's not really necessary for the three days and will be sitting in a car park for most of the time. The car is going to cost us an extra £70 if we go with this option.

Before I can work our which way to go I'm trying to get an idea of parking costs. We can either park at the local train station in Treviso or drive and park in one of the car parks on the outskirts of Venice. Depending on the parking cost will depend whether we go the taxi or car hire route.

The car will be left at either car park for 48hrs.

Thanks

Hi just to let you know that there is a coach service that runs from Treviso airport to venice and I can not remember how much it costs, but someone else on here might . As you come out the airport and the ticket office is on the left. Not a bad service and it ran on time you can buy a return ticket.

Hi loveabargain. I know there is a coach into Venice but because we will have a lot of luggage since we are touring for a month, we decided it would be easier to stay in Treviso and just take an overnight bag into Venice the following day.
We have arranged to pick up the car after we have seen Venice at Treviso airport but because we thought the transfer to the hotel was 10 euros not 10 euros per person were not sure whether we should hire a car from day one instead. At the moment it's going to cost us 120 euros for the taxis to and fro plus train tickets to Venice. If we hire a car it will cost an extra £70, provided the car parking is not going to be more than £20 it will balance it's self out. Anyone know the parking costs?

Hi Just to answer my own question if anyone else is in the same position.
Parking was free at the Treviso train station. I believe parking in Venice is now 16 euros daily. If I remember correctly the train fare was 7 euros return.
Our journey into Venice was packed with standing room only, until we decided to play the innocent tourist and sit in 1st class. Our tickets weren't collected or checked on either journey. We bought our tickets from the hotel, i'm not sure if they are available at the station.

    Hi Annie
If you mean the taxis from airport to hotel in Treviso then we were quoted 10 euro and it wasn't until a couple of days before we found out it was 10 euros per person each way including children (we were a party of 4) so we hired a car instead, which worked out cheaper since we intended hiring for the rest of our holiday anyway.
If you mean the water taxi then I would suggest you get the vaperetto instead (quick and easy if a little cosy), unless you have a hotel where you can dock outside and then I'd be tempted. We decided to stay our first night in Treviso so we could leave all our main luggage there and take an over night bag into Venice.
Sometimes a more expenxive hotel may work out cheaper in the long run if you don't have to take taxis.
