Help me find my next car
After spending probably far too much time deliberating which car to get next I am now more confused then ever. I currently have a 09 Mitsubishi Colt Cleartec. It's a good small hatchback and very reliable (one tyre and 2 bulbs in over 18 months). It is cheap to run with only £30/year tax.
Unfortuneatly it's not that comfortable to drive especially on long journeys mainly because of very hard suspension, cabin noise and un-supportive seats. Car will be used to commute daily about 6 miles away and 300 mile long journeys 3-4 times per year.
I was considering a Ford Focus petrol 1.6 but never really been a fan of fix or repair daily or the Focus interior. Essentially what I am looking for is a very reliable petrol only, cheap to run car that drives and handles like the Focus. Budget around 9k. Also with a well built interior!
Any suggestions?

The issue is what you find comfortable the next person may find gives them backache.
I have a back condition and have a Mondeo. To be its ideal. I can do a fairly long journey without too much pain. I cannot sit on the back though.
Parents have a Golf and within 20 minutes the pain is quite severe.
Sister had a focus and i couldnt manage more than 30 minutes in that.
A personal choice and the only way to tell is take a journey in one.
Sometimes changing the tyres to a higher profile is all thats needed to get a better ride.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
