New York hotel rooms

We have been saving up for a trip to NY next year for a week. We are a family of 4 and the teenagers cant really share a room without killing each other these days. Ideally Id like one big apartment or suite sleeping 4 with a separate bedroom and a sofabed and a bit of a kitchen/living room to keep the eating costs down.

Do these sort of places exist in NY and how do I search for them? If I put in 'one bedroom' they are just ordinary hotel rooms with two doubles all in one room. If I search 'two bedrooms' I get two separate rooms probably miles apart. Really I'd call it a family room but the search boxes only allow numbers which is driving me mad.

Any ideas or recommendations

Can you please repost in the New York sticky thread, and I'll reply there.

    Google New York Holiday Apartments.

Letting of apartments for short holidays is illegal in the five boroughs that make up NYC, so take care.

We've just booked the Homewood Suites by Hilton (Midtown / Times Square). They've got 1 bedroom apartments with sofabeds in the lounge and kitchenettes. I think they may also do 2 bedroom apartments.
