  • Well, I've been awol for a bit but am back now and north of the border :) .
The house we had lined up for rental fell through so we're staying with family for a little while.
I've just updated YNAB and our current deposit is £10,848. It's down a bit due to removal expenses but we have £1296 coming back from the deposit on our last house and shouldn't have to pay that much this time round so hopefully it'll go back up soon.

  • The electricity company have refunded us £294.40. I've put that back into our emergency fund. Hopefully we'll get a bit back from council tax as well.

    Hi FF, welcome back x
  • So worked the morning, home for lunch, YNAB all updated and now settling down to watch the rugby... good luck to the boys in blue :D

  • Ah well, the rugby didn't go our way but Mr FF was happier with today's result.
We had a quiet day today. Went out for a run in the morning, lunch with parents then a walk in the park in the afternoon. We did have a sneaky hot chocolate and cake so not a spend free day but kept it to £9.75.

  • I got the deposit back from out old house today, £1296. We'll need to use £650 for the deposit on the new place and a bit on a fridge freezer but we should be able to add achunk to savings.

  • Time for an update. Our rental house should be ready this week and I've just paid an eye watering sum to get our furniture delivered. It'll be nice to get settled in but means the rest of the month is going to be a bit tight.

  • Hope all goes well with the move, maybe the forever home is just round the corner :)
  • Well, we're now settled in our rental. We've had enough teething troubles to make us determined to buy next year and be landlord free :).
Mr F has had a bit of time out with the move but will be starting to look for work soon.
So far this year, I've managed to convert him to using YNAB and getting involved with setting a budget. I've added an extra £1.81 to savings from a topcashback payment. Today I discovered amazon prime music and all the songs I was considering treating myself to on itunes can be downloaded for free so I'm a happy bunny :)
