HP Business laptop up in smoke twice.

I have a £1200 HP nx9420 business laptop that has literally gone up in smoke for the second time in 6 months, it is now about 8 months old.
I won't bore you with the full story but it has had replaced:
1) 3 system/mother boards
2) 2 batteries
3) 2 PSU`s
4) 1 TFT panel
It has just come back from the service centre and the new TFT is not calibrated correctly so on auto mode (ambient light sensor) the new screen is too dark, the modem still doesn't work, the plastics have been cracked and the bottom left keys on the keyboard are dead so I have no FN, CTRL or ALT keys.
I have had enough and I want to reject it and demand a new one but here is my problem, the machine was bought by my insurance company (I put in £300 to do the upgrade). HP say the sale of goods act is between me and the retailer and they don't care. The retailer and my insurance company both say it is the others problem and I am left in the middle holding a £1200 pile of junk, how do I move this forward?
Cheers all......

Have you tried contacting Trading Standards or Consumer Direct to see what they can advise you to do. Was it a high street retailer? Did you pay by credit card - maybe you could get your credit card company involved?
Hope you get sorted soon!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
Who did your insurance company replace it through (retailer)? Where have you been taking it to be sent away for repair?0

That's a first wimpysports
I wouldn't bother with the CAB (speaking as an adviser for them) they will only refer you to consumer direct.0
