Getting bank to reveal account holders name and address

I have been the victim of fraud and only have the bank account details of the fraudster. I am aware that I can make an application to the Commercial Court and possibly get a court order to compel the bank to release this information. Does nay one have any experience of this? Is it something that I can do myself? Is it costly and what are the chances of success?
Thanks

They will not. You need to go to the police, or more specifically, Action Fraud.
One of the main reasons they won't give you their info is for data protection, and in case you plan to go round with a baseball bat.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0 -
How did the person manage to get your money?0

Why do you need it, and what would you do with it if you had it ?0

A typical situation when something was paid for by a bank transfer.
If you know the person you paid to, you can try legal actions to recover the money.0 -
Sorry that I cannot remember the details (or find a link) but I recall a new variation of a scam being mentioned on the radio where someone transferred funds to a UK bank account that turned out to be the account of an overseas card company and the actual card holder was not within the UK and withdrew the money as soon as it arrived.0

Probably the OP want's to pop round and, er, 'encourage' the individual not to do it again?
It sounds like the OP likes to do things themselves, where possible
Doubt it. A more likely reason is because to the OP wants take action via small claims court where you need to have the name and address of the defendant.0 -
Really baseball bats!!!!!!!!!!! I need the address to sue and pass on to the police. If any one has experience of hte commercial court please let me know0

good luck markandkate. speaking to ActionFraud seems a good move. not sure how helpful that will be re. getting the fraudsters name and address, but fwiw, if you were to go to see the person/persons involved i wouldn't blame you.0

I think you've got this the wrong way round, you need the police (via ActionFraud) to get the name and address for you so that you can then sue - although if it's fraud perhaps they will face criminal proceedings and the court may order repayment.0
