Pass book account question

Well two questions actually!
DH has an old Santander pass book account migrated from an old A&L account that he never received any pass book for and they want to charge us for a replacement. Does anybody know how much the replacements are please?
Also which accounts if any have passbooks, I understand it's not great interest but the amount sat in there isn't that high but it's the format I would like this small bit of money in it will be less than £1k
Thanks

Can I ever learn this budgeting lark? So far it's not looking promising

I would tell them the facts and if they charge ask to register a complaint to get the money back again.0 -
Thanks I hadn't thought of that, I assumed I would just have to hand over money get book rather than have a charge applied.
That sounds like the solution will task DH with that this week! Can I ever learn this budgeting lark? So far it's not looking promising

I'm really surprised the amount was not stated when they advised there was one.
Anyway, £10 for a lost passbook.
But accoprding to you, the passbook wasn't actually lost. You claim he never had one. Strange... more details needed on this I think.0 -
The account was opened by my Husbands Aunt when he was tiny as she worked for A&L at the time.
The account always had a little bit of money in but largely unused for a number of years. It was migrated to Santander when they took over A&L and eventually we got notification to say it was now a Santander passbook account but all he ever got was a letter with the new ref number on, nothing else!
So no we have never had a Santander passbook with the relevant references on for this accountCan I ever learn this budgeting lark? So far it's not looking promising

It has a passbook and isn't too bad for a savings account. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Does he have a A&L passbook for this account?
He probably needs to take it along to a branch to exchange it for a new Santander passbook.0 -
My mum has passbooks on several accounts that were Stroud and Swindon BS and are now Coventry BS.0
