Ok - sorry about the gross topic...:o:o
I am on the pill.
I have had very heavy periods for as long as I can remember.
As in on my pill free week I would start to bleed within 2 days and would continue to do so heavily for 5 days. I would also have stomach cramps and backache along with a blinding headache for the duration.
However my last 3 periods I have not started to bleed until around the 4th day in my pill free week and for the first day the blood loss is light but then it as heavy as before - but only for 2 days as opposed to the usual 5 days.
I am still suffering with the cramps/backache and headaches, but again they are only lasting for 2 or 3 days.
Could this be a sign that something is wrong?

I've been on the pill for 12 years and my periods have gradually got shorter, and even lighter. They also start 3-4 days later than they did when I first went on it.
Doc told me it was normal

Thanks Fay - how long were you on before you noticed this happening?
I have been on the pill for 11 years now and it hasn't happened gradually - it just changed as from about 3 months ago.
I was also told I have cervical erosion - could this have something to do with it??Dream of being mortgage free....

The best thing you can do is talk to your doctor, I think.0

I don't really want to be having to go to the doctors - and as I have my late shifts coming up it will be difficult to get in anyway.Dream of being mortgage free....

The other weird worrying thing that happened to me was when I lost some weight... periods went to nothing then.
(I've actually tired of being a slave to the pill and am now using other methods)
But yes, best thing is a chat with the docs if unsure. I'd say for me, the change was gradual... the radical changes happened after I'd slimmed a bit.My TV is broken!

Will check that Canny - but not open til Monday now anyway.
I haven't lost any weight either. I wish.
In fact I had given up but just joined £ for lb challenge to see if that will encourage me a bit more.
I'm not immensely overweight - only about half a stone.Dream of being mortgage free....

I was period-free for about 18 months.
Then they returned as suddenly as they had stopped. GP couldn't explain and was not worried about out it either.
No weight loss either - unfortunately!0 -
I had the same problem when I first started the pill a couple of years ago...found it easier to switch to Cerazette as I was also getting migraines...no pill free week, and no periods at all
