Firstly, thankyou for all the fantastic information in the sticky threads.
I'm afriad I am a Newbie with a question. I have tried to find the answer in previous posts but without success.
I recieved a NTK from UK Parking Patrol Office on 9th December. This is for an alleged contravention of parking without a permit on a residential estate in north Manchester (M9 postcode) on 5th November.
The issue is that I have never visited the location stated. The last time I visited Manchester was 4 years ago. I live in the East Midlands.
I have never received a NTD sticky on my car in any location whatsoever. I know exactly where I was at the time/date of the PCN - as it was guy fawkes night I was at home nursing a dog terrified of fireworks!
Also the address of the alleged cntravention is wrong, with the region and postcode not matching.
I suspect this is a case of mistaken identity or just complete fiction.
So my question is - do I use the letter template in the Newbie section or not? I don't want to infer that I have visited the area by talking about incorrect signage etc when neither me or my vehicle have ever been there.
Thanks for all your help.

In your case, I would be honest and ask for photographic evidence stating you fear you car has been cloned. At this stage, I would not complicate things with forum defences - at least not unless they fail to comply.
Others may disagree, but I would be inclined to send them a photo of my car if it was me.0 -
The likelihood is that some fat-fingered, shaky-handed parking chimp has incorrectly transcribed the VRM of the 'contravening' vehicle - and now you're reaping the 'reward' of this lack of brain cells/digit coordination/training/supervision/quality control by the chimp and the PPC.
As well as following the advice above from GD, be prepared to make a strongly worded complaint to Steve Clark of the BPA and the DVLA who have provided your personal details, when there is absolutely no 'reasonable cause' (email addies in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #6).
These complaints are very important. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
