If the radiator is on an outside wall, put some foil behind it to reflect the heat back into the room.
Also, you may need to put the heating on for a good few hours. Our house is half stone built and if the heating has been off for a day or two, the whole house feels damp. We then have to leave the heating on overnight to dry the house out and get the warmth back in.0 -
Wehad oil filled radiator yrs ago when son small and no central heating - took the chill off the air well and you can get some small ones now that should not cost too much to run for a few hours.
The clinging stuff for windows I used as window very draughty - you put double sided tape round frame and then stick on this special clear stuff like clingfilm. Then you heat it with a hair dryer and it shrinks so its almost invisible. you cannot open the window then without breaking it but I left mine on for all the winter months and it stopped the draughts and must have provided some insulation.
