Good news, finally reserved my first house on a Barratt's homes estate yesterday.
I've been in touch with the broker this morning and got the ball rolling with that side. They are already nagging me to organise a conveyancing solicitor and want me to exchange 19th Jan latest.
My mortgage application can't be submitted until the end of jan as the house worst case scenario won't be finished until July 15, so submitting end of jan gives us maximum use of the 6 month offer.
So yeah they are nagging me to choose a conveyancing solicitor now, but I dont know which lender will lend me, so need to find a conveyancing solicitor who is on all the panels of all the help to buy 1 lenders.
Does anyone know or a conveyancing solicitor that is to save me ringing a load of people on Monday?
Thinking about using beaumont legal or birchall Blackburn the online companies but again don't know if they are represented as of yet on all help 2 buy 1 lenders panels....
Argh! Help please!

I'd be telling the builder to hold their horses and not exchange till the end of February, or you might end up with issues if the build runs late, which is most likely will.
Just make it clear to them you want to hold off, as most mortgage offers are only valid for 6 months. To be fair, you should have done this at reservation and had them write an extra month into the form for the exchange deadline.0 -
barratts will push, they told us 28 days. We told them you want the sale you wait and they didDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
