Energy Scotland Grant

Options
Had an assessor out from Energy Scotland who said that we qualify for a £4,000 grant towards the cost of getting central heating installed. We currently have no central heating and use an electric fire and some plug in oil heaters. We live in a one up flat (2 bedroom) with own entrance and we had electric storage heaters fitted to the property and a water heater linked to them. However, the property was a repossession and the previous owners removed the heaters.

In a few days a guy from Scottish Gas is coming to give us a quote on a new install. Can anyone give us a rough idea on how much this will be? We need a new boiler, 5 heaters and conection from the road (neighbours across the street have gas but not in our block). We would move out for a few days to make the process a bit easier. I know this involves lifting carpets, laminate flooring and moving furniture etc. What I'm wondering is am I best just to get them to put in electric heaters as apparently the £4,000 will cover this. I do not mind a weeks worth of hassle if the gch will be worth it but do not have the money to put alot towards the cost.

Any suggestions/rough quotes appreciated. Also, does anyone know when they would be able to do this as we are feeling the cold just now.
