    to be honest no.

    Lets try another thought.

Is the shower above the bath, ie combined bath/shower mixer.
Have you taken the side of the bath off to look underneath ?

Can you trace the path of the water pipes.

Promise to tell me what the builder says.

Ah you see, this is where the metal detector rather than the hammer comes in, :rotfl:

It does seem to be a water feedpipe issue, most likely leaking from the end appliance, but like you I can't picture the exact situation from the OP's description.
    It's the classic "a picture paints a .........." situation :)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I'm suspecting a flush mounted bath/shower mixer in the wall?? If it only gets wet when you run a bath/shower then it has to be pipework after the taps/valves?

    Pictures please.

Nope, I want to find the leak, show me a 'leak' detector.

Hi guys sorry for the slow reply basically what has happened is the patch still gets wet at only certain times of the day, for a week the patch was starting to dry out then it came back again so damp that I had drops of water when touching it.

I took wallbash's advice and got a builder to look at it who after looking under my bath at the pipes etc said there was no need for there to be a pipe near where the wet patch is so he went next door to see what was there and said they had a shower panel right there. so I thought great problem solved called next doors landlord who said he would send his son in law who runs a building/plumbing firm to look at it (incidently he used them to put in a new bathroom not too long ago) they have just came round to my house today and told me that my guy was wrong and there shower is not directly where the wet patch is and is much further along the wall. so now I have no idea what to do they said it was probably an internal pipe and to get someone to cut into the wall to have a look?

they also said where the spot is on there side is just a tap basin and all of those pipes are going straight down. maybe now is time to call my insurance company and get someone to look inside the wall?

does anyone know roughly how much it will cost to have a look in the wall and fix a pipe? also i am confused as to how the wall is then put back to normal?
