I had a Black Horse car loan taken out in 2000, think I repaid it in full a few years after that. Would any of this apply as it's pre 2008? What about the PPI stuff - although I don't remember if I had PPI on it or not.
I've moved house many times since I had the loan so I wouldn't have expected anyone to track me down, but there's little point in me firing off letters with questions if there's no chance of anything!
Thanks if anyone can help! :-)0 -

BLACKHORSE are one of the Companies who are not "forthcoming" with PPI. You need to send a letter to them ( signature on delivery- only cost you £1.72). Within that letter make a complaint regarding your PPI. Other threads on here will give you a template. For the sack of £1.72 well worth the letter! Good LuckHSBC PPI Claimed - £ 2800 -WIN

I have over 30 documents relating to Black Horse, anybody need anything,,drop me a line. I have been given old " Master Documents" which include the original wording of agreements etc. Very HandyHSBC PPI Claimed - £ 2800 -WIN

Thanks for that! I'll definitely ask them about the PPI, although I do vaguely recall always rejecting PPI on principle at the time. I was one of the few who knew to I guess as it seemed pointless. At the same time though it was through a car dealership and there were all sorts of very weird APR-related things going on that I didn't understand and didn't seem to add up.. and I was fairly savvy back then. The dealer was clearly trying to confuse me over something, so I don't know for sure if I had it.
Can I also request a copy of the original loan agreement at the same time do you know? If I do get it, how would I know if it was/was not enforceable?
Thank you!!0 -
Hi All
Apologies, new to MSE forum.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a template letter for reclaiming Black Horse interest.
Had a personal loan for 3 years from 2007 & would love to claim back whatever is possible!
Thanks0 -
I am in the same situation as SpiceIsland as I have 2 personal loans from 2009. I have sent a letter to Black Horse today and will post any updates as I receive them.
Just to update on my situation. I received a letter 2 weeks ago from Black Horse to say that they were investigating my complaint, though it could take up to 8 weeks before I get a final decision. Today I was left an answerphone message to say that they did not have any updates and are still investigating the issues that I have raised. I suspect they will take 8 weeks before they reach their decision.
Has anybody else had any success reclaiming interest from a Black Horse personal loan?0 -
Hi Molly could you share how you started your complaint to Black horse? Can't seem to find any guidance on this. Thanks0

Letters both ways and a few others on another site about to issue Moneyclaim on line. Going to enter the New Year with a Bang!
PS , now received a letter saying they are " looking into my complaint" dated 3 days after they told me on the phone they had not upheld my complaint. They do not like the prospect of Court.........they dont like it up em!
True to form this is exactly what I was told would happen by somebody in Cardiff. 1)Complaints advisor rejects claim and informs complainer by phone- YEP GOT THAT
2) Complainer rejects Black Horse decision and sends further Letter-YEP DONE THAT
3) Black Horse responds saying the complaint is being looked at AGAIN-YEP GOT THAT
4) Black Horse try to draw it out -YEP GOT THAT
5 Black Horse offer small goodwill gesture WE WILL SEE
6) Complainer rejects token offer WE WILL SEE
7) Complainer issues Court Documents WE WILL SEE
8) BlackHorse settles or digs in for Court WE WILL SEE WE WILL SEE
9) Court decides
based on your attitude I hope you lose0 -
Can't find any source which states that information must be provided on the statement to inform people about being able to make overpayments.0
