hi
I recently bought an item thru buy it now on ebay. The seller asked for a cheque and when his postal details came thru I saw that he was only 20 mins away from me. I sent an email saying that instead of meeting it would be better to meet and swap cash for item. I have sent numerous emails to him and after a while he emailed me back saying that as I hadn't turned up to meet him he wondered if I still wanted the item. It was sent thru ebay and sounded quite snotty. I hadn't arranged a definate time or date with him although I had suggested many alternative dates as he was working away from home.
I have since emailed him at least 6 times stating that I still wanted the item but needed a definate date and time to meet. I have had no answer as yet!
I contacted ebay to get his personal details thinking I could ring him and actually speak to him to finally sort this out! However I've tried twice today and it just rings and goes to answerphone.
I haven't paid any money for the item but I really do want it still as it was a bargain! It annoys me so much that his email thru ebay was so snotty that it sounded like it was my fault for not meeting him even though we hadn't agreed a time and he didn't mention that I had been emailing him at least twice a day for a week!
He has got 17 feedback points and only one negative feedback so i thought it would be ok! I'm glad I didn't send a cheque now but I still want the item.
What are my options? I'll keep ringing him today to try and get in touch with him but what else can I do? Are the emails I send to him through ebay recorded by ebay? I can't say i haven't received the item because we never exchanged any money but its really pi**ed me off now!!
any advice would be great! Phew...that was a long post!
