Is Now TV box for me?

My OH likes to watch various things on catch-up tv. This usually involves watching on our desktop computer in the bedroom. Is the Now TV box worth getting at £9.99 to facilitate watching on our tv downstairs?
One problem I foresee is that we cannot access the ITV catch-up as we live in Scotland and are redirected to the STV catch up site.
I don't think he will be interested in buying day passes etc for sport etc.
Any advice welcome.

Sure, for a one off £10 its not much of an outlay. Just make sure your internet speed is good enough.0

I've read that you can use an English postcode, rather than a Scottish one to get ITV catch up, rather than redirect to STV.0

Not all things are on catch up, sometimes rights issues mean shows or films are not available.
That's not a critism of the NowTV box, just related to the fact Sky have some rights to show things and they may not be the same as other services. They tend to be "Sky " channels than regular terrestrial TV.
As an examples heres todays list..

In addition as well as reasonable broadband speed the box runs over your wirelsss, if you don't have a good connection from the router to the TV it may suffer. So a few thick walls can degrade the signal quite a lot...0 -
Worth every penny, I think a lot of people who slag NOW TV off are trying to compare it to the full Sky offering which obviously it doesn't come close!£2014 in 2014£3,155.66 £20140

Thanks for your replies. Yes from what you say I think for a tenner it is worth a punt. Our Blu-ray player is wireless and we haven't had a problem so don't think there will be connectivity issues.0

Curry's are currently selling the box with 3 months entertainment package which is a few additional sky channels for £14 which isn't bad.0

Thanks for that. I have just ordered the basic box. DH away a fair bit so might not get full benefit of extra Sky programmes. I think he will be pleased enough with the basics meantime.0 -
Have 4 of them - covers each tv in the house - get value IMOAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

Agree 100%.
I am thrilled with my Now TV box and Entertainment pass, tiny list of things not available really, and realistically if I want everything then I need to pay for a full Sky subscription.0 -
the now tv box is a locked down roku 2 , now tv strip out the video/music streaming from there boxes , however with ten minutes work , and one programme installed on your computer , the box comes to life!
have a look at http://www.automatedhome.co.uk/av-distribution/now-tv-10-minute-hack-10-wireless-plex-media-player.html
as well as being able to watch/listen to films/music that you have downloaded to your PC , there are now loads of extra channels
if you get fed up , simply press the factory reset button and it goes back to a basic now tv box0
