uninstall and reinstall avast, should take care of it.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Remove via control Panel.

How to remove Avast via Contol Panel.

If not successful, use the Avast removal utility.

Re boot the computer and install Avast again.
Alternatively, if the problem is recent, try a system restore point.
