Bam

It doesn't really stand for anything. It is an engine code for VAG engines, along with others such as APX, APY, so denotes a particular engine.
I think the BAM engine is the 1.8 litre 225bhp engine as used in the Audi TT.0 -
Thanks for reply. I've seen mondeo and bmw adverts with BAM in them too - would they have a VAG engine in them?0
-
Not unless someone has retro fitted a VAG engine into them which I suspect is very rare. Do you have any examples of the BMW / Mondeo adverts?0
-
I must be going mad. Am sure I've seen some but quick search on auto trader reveals nothing. Anyway, thanks for the explanation!0

Can you post a link to an example?0

I've seen them more in local paper garage listings rather than on the internet. I'm sure there was even a Peugeot with BAM in the advert in the paper at work. I'll try and post a photo of the advert on Monday depending on how easy it is to include a photo in a post.
Not entirely sure if custard needs to be involved though...0 -
BAM = Bloody Awful Motor.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
