Credit card application-minimum earnings ammount

HI,
Having just returned from overseas I am looking to transfer my £3000 debt from one credit card to another. On all the applications they ask, as you would expect, how much your earnings are per year. As I have just returned and am only working part-time, even though I hope to be full time within a month or so, I was wondering what is the lower limit on being accepted for a credit card. My yearly earnings if worked out on my part-tim job would only come to £6-7000. Does anybody know if any credit cards will accept my application with such low earning potential? My current credit card is crippling me with its rates and I need a change.
Thanks in advance

Don't be so sure about that? Some credit card companies had tightened up on vetting applications as long ago as spring 2006.

Around March 2006 I applied to HSBC for a credit card with balance transfer & they wanted proof of earnings/proof of address/ID check etc. You never really know if they check without telling you as opposed to being upfront about it like HSBC were.

Who is your current card with? Is it possible for you to apply with your own bank? it will be difficult for you to get the limit you need on the income details you have given.
