Help me with Hollister Hoodie

Hi

My son would love a Hollister hoody for Christmas and I have set some money aside to buy him one. I think he probably needs an XS size but mens start at small. If I buy a navy blue ladies hoody in XS will anyone know this is a girls?

Or do I just chance a small on the basis that it is going to be a bit big but he is still getting a Hollister hoody?

Help!

  • You don't buy girls clothing for boys. If someone looks at the label, they'll be calling him Mabel

How old is he? Hollister sizes are pretty tiny.
  • You wont notice but I'm sure other (presumably) teenagers would. I can't imagine many image conscious boys would want to wear a girls hoodie, and if he gets teased he wont wear it all and it will be wasted money anyway. Id get the small and he can wear it baggy/ grow into it.

I would say it depends on how fitted he wants it. If it's only going to be a little big I would go for the men's. I have two men's Hollister hoodies that I love- the women's ones all seem to have sequins on them somewhere so I would suggest going for the small men's. I find their sizes are a little strange personally.

  • Ta all, yes I know it was a silly idea wasnt it? Just really wanted to get him one of these sweatshirts .. and they do all look very similar to me, who sadly is not really with it any more.

If anyone else is interested they have got a 25% discount offer at the moment.
  • How old is he? XS in ladies is very small. Like buzzy says, Hollister sizes are tiny.

You're better off just getting a mans small....don't get the poor lad a girls one!
  • Sometimes they are cut different so you might want to look into the size dimensions.

I would compare them side to side in the shop or ask an assistant what the difference is.

My stepson has often borrowed his sisters Jack Wills boy warmer and isn't remotely bothered that it's presumably a girls one so your son may not be that bothered either.

I bought my 14 year old son who is approx 5 foot 7 inches, slight build a mans small and it fits perfectly.
  • My son wouldn't be seen dead wearing his sisters hooodies. Looking swamped in oversized A&F and holister is better IMO.
