Most Smart TVs have catch up player apps built in, however as far as I know they are only for streaming archived programmes.
PC/Tablet implementations of the apps mostly have a Live TV facility.
So has anyone come across a TV that has a fully implemented iPlyer etc, for those who cant be bothered to run an aerial through and just use the home wifi?

Smart TV's aren't as smart as we like to think they are.
Almost everything we watch on ours is via usb memory sticks or portable HDD.
We have a dedicated computer on standby to watch live internet streaming, or we can stream from the main household desktop. There are lots of 'box' type devices cheaply available which run android or linux, we can even mirror the screen of our tablets!
Either way, it's best to use some type of computer connected to the TV for internet streaming.

It is unlikely for a TV to have what you are suggesting as surely most people would actually use the TV part to watch TV.Most Smart TVs have catch up player apps built in, however as far as I know they are only for streaming archived programmes.

The web-browser in my Samsung TV will let me go to bbc.co.uk and access the iPlayer page which includes live streaming of the BBC channels. Works OK, although the picture resolution is obviously inferior to Freeview HD. The iPlayer app on the TV is just for catch-up.0
