in Credit cards
I booked 2 tickets for the Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre in January 2015 through Love Theatre, the 2 tickets were for a Christmas present for my son and girlfriend. Tickets were paid for on my credit card to the value of £109.40.
I have just found out that my son has just received a letter to attend a job interview on that date.
I called Love Theatre to ask if it was possible to change the date and they said no refunds or transfers as per their t&c's. But to contact via email customerservice@ticketmachinegroup.com to see if anything could be done. But they have also replied with the same answer.
Could I obtain a refund through my Credit Card Company?

No, you can't.0

No for two reasons.
If, as you say, there was no breach of T+Cs, then the CC is not liable. S75 merely means you can hold the CC liable in the event of a breach of contract (or misrepresentation).
Secondly, for S75 to apply, the "item price" must be at least £100. It appears that the tickets were priced at less than £100 each.0 -
No sorry, because the service is still available. The merchant is willing to provide it. Claims are made if the merchant is not willing.Debt free by XMAS 2015 #027Barclaycard: £0.00Divorce: £0.00 :jKitchen: £0.00 :j0

Or if not, there are some theatre forums that allow tickets to be exchanged (i.e whatsonstage.com has a forum as well where you can offer tickets for exchange)MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -

Can't he change the job interview date?
Just tell the employer he has a pre-arranged appointment for that date.
I'm sure they will understand - afterall it's several weeks away so they can't be in too much of a hurry to employ someone.
If they won't, then that will probably tell your son more than he'll glean from any interview about the prospective employer
The ticket may be a non-refundable, non-transferable one, but were you not offered Booking Refund Protection at time of purchase? Most reputable, recognised vendors of tickets for that vanue do offer this.0
