Fake Britain

Options
For anyone interested and wants to see the latest tricks the Chavs are up to on the free energy tariff have a look on BBC iplayer or catch up TV on 9th Dec 9.0 am ,Fake Britain. There you can see the results of a bit of gas meter removing at the famous Dundas Rd in Sheffield. P.S. I only found 2 people fiddling in that street this year when I was there.
The BBC have broadcast the latest tips and methods etc in order to get a zero energy bill for us to subsidise, including the use of a Dyson vacuum cleaner.

    I haven't got a Dyson. Will it work with a Hoover ?

Yes ! my fellow meter reader mate thinks it will take too long and cost too much in electricity. On Imperial meters at approx £1.32 a unit I think its doable. I must admit not to be aware of this old scam but the BBC has told everyone. Stilsons will be out all over UK trying this one out no doubt.

Where i use to live the guy next door had a 6" nail sticking out of his electric meter, he said ...... it's easy.
I always envisaged that one night his house would blow-up and take mine with it. Either that or one of his little kids grab hold and go up in a blue flash.

I'm surprised that meters don't have a ratchet to prevent reverse movement.

Yes, frightening what they get up to. They showed a bike innertube used as a bypass on the gas meter. I ve heard of two nails hammered thro the cables with a link added. Until they actually get prosecuting and dragging them through the court system it will only get worse.
Heres one example from last month . I ve caught this bloke three times now tampering and substituting the gas meter in an outside box. I monitored his exact amount of gas thieved and it came to an incredible £139 worth of gas in 7 days, and it was nt even that cold.He s never paid anything in 7 years. Scottish Power have been round twice just to put the debt he owes on the prepay and he takes no notice and carrys on, just fiddles again( and wrecks the innards of the meter ) . I ve told Scot Power the gas supply needs to be dug up completely. I await to see what they do..probably nothing

excellent idea. they have a cheap plastic collar also which can be put on the nuts which hold the meter to the unions. These could be added to every meter as they would have to be broken off to get to the nuts..They re not bothered. Just let the honest consumer pay for their free energy , its cheaper for them that way
  • I changed my electric meter for an inner tube. Now my lights don't work.

Well knock the two brain cells that you have together, that should give enough electricity.
