Utility Debts
After a little bit of help.
I'm in a shared student house - have lived here since September 2006. In June, moved out, along with my house mates for a month and a bit to go home.
I've now come back to start a years placement in this town. I'm (until September) the only one here. On getting back after a month away, I went through the post. There is:
Bill & Demand (dated 30th June!) for Water at £150
Bill & Demand for Gas/Electric at £50/£100
Bill & Demand for Sewage at £150
I don't get my first wage from my placement until the middle of August - until then, I'm living on about £30 a week for food (and some more, but thats already allocated to TV license, rent and other regular payments). Even then, at the end of the month, I'm not sure I'll be able to afford £450 in one hit.
Asked my ex-housemates, as the bills are for past periods mainly and they haven't got any money at the moment - and don't seem to care as they aren't going to be living here again.
I don't know what to do, if I ring them up, will they be accomodating or refuse to accept my situation? I'm actually terrified, I've never owed this much money (or had the money to cover it), and it was quite a big shock when I got home.
Thanks!
