Closing in a porch

We have an open porch on our house and want to close it in with a window and a door. Do we need planning permission??

Definitely not if you retain the existing front door. You may need building regs permission. Ask your council.This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

What I mean is that the porch must be outside the front door of the house.This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -
We have been thinking about doing this and in our area we do need permission.
Permitted development rights (for the last two or so years) are restricted - though there is no fee for the application.
