It varies. Very occasionally it come around 9.30 but more usually between 1 and 2.30. No consistency at all.0

When I lived south it came about 7-8.30am. Here in Orkney it can be from 11-3.30, normally about 12-1 with our current post-lady (she is great, we miss her when she is not here). Parcels and letters come with same service (it's a wee van).Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Post tends to be delivered later now as postmen start work later.
When Mr BD first worked for Royal Mail he started at 4.45 am. Now he starts at 6.45am. It is because postmen used to get a supplement on their pay for unsocial hours (or whatever the PC term is). Starting later saves Royal Mail money.
As for clark24 our posties have always been very good with parcels. They tend to deliver when I am in resting or sleeping bed in the morning (prior to 11am), so they leave parcels in a plastic box in the porch for me to save me getting up. However this will only work if you have a regular postie, and in some areas there is a significant turnover of staff and staff are moved around a lot. In towns and cities it is easier to move staff round different 'walks' as the properties are closer together and the postie is not so likely to get lost trying to find 'Walnut Tree Farm' down an unmarked lane.
Mr BD likes dogs (we have two of our own) but he also keeps a supply of mini bone biscuits in his top pocket to 're-assure' the dogs on his walk (getting permission of course). As a result he is very popular, especially with the labsOne lab waits at the window for him and rushes out for his biscuit. Unfortunately some of DH's shirts now have holes in the pocket where our pea brained lurcher has eaten through the fabric trying to get at the biscuit crumbs - instead of putting his nose in the top of the pocket.
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Well if you read the label, thats not what it said.
There wasn't a label. The 'latest time' insert, which previously had read 5.45, now read 9.00. (Whether this said respectively 'p.m.' and 'a.m.' or followed the 24-hour clock, I can't remember, but it was clear it was 9 in the morning and not the evening.)Life is mainly froth and bubble
