Nexus 10 Camera

The camera app appears to have 'disappeared on my tablet.
I get a message 'cannot connect to camera' & when I look in apps there is no camera app.
Can I download a new free app from somewhere ??

Whilst I'm reluctant to help you look like one of those idiots that wave their iPad around trying to take photos whilst blocking everybody elses view with a wall of tablets (as a photographer these people REALLY get on my nerves), the answer to your issue lies in the app permissions.

A recent update messed up the permissions so that the camera app no longer has access to the camera. You need to download a permissions manager from the Google Play store and change the permissions to allow the app access to the camera..

Getting a bit fed up of these constant downloads messing up my
tablet.
The KitKat to Lollipop udate made the tablet unusable so had to go back
to 4.4.4.....

I have a Nexus 7, me too.
Unfortunately a lot of it is security updates to nanny the folks who trust/download/update** apps without checking their permissions and wind up with some nasty malware.

**One of the favourite tricks for dodgy apps is to release an app with no permissions and then release an update that asks for permissions to do everything on the device. People don't always check the permissions of updates and most people don't turn off "auto-update".
