Maternity Pay/tax Credits

Hi all, need a bit of help here. My partner is due to go on maternity leave next week. My question is, how will this affect her ctc/wtc payments? Only info I can find is that her maternity pay will be "ignored"
Quote from the pregnancy book under rights & benefits:
"you can ask for the award to be adjusted if your wages fall significantly during the current tax year because you are going on maternity leave, or following the borth of your baby. Maternity allowance or the first $100 a week of SMP will be ignored as income"
As she works part time and only earns around $100 a week, we are not sure what will happen to our payments? I do not live with her btw so she is a lone claimant.
My pound sign does not work????? so sorry about the $ sign.
Any help much appreciated.

Last year a "significant drop in income" was £2,500.
Perhaps you would find the Maternity Alliance Website useful.Torgwen..........

if she is going to take the full 6m mat leave, then yes her pay will decrease significantly enough, for her ctc/wftc to increase, espec due to having an additional child to claim for, and getting the higher rate too for under ones
as soon as babys birth has been registered, contact them, and they should make the adjustments straight away0
