Cahoot

Anyone know whats going on with Cahoot?
Their webpage shows no links to open a current account and indeed it all looks a bit strange.
Anyone know anything?
Are they closing Cahoot?
Help.

I still have an instant savings account with them. Although not sure how long it will remain open, I have a feeling Cahoot as a company might just close altogether.

Quite old fashion service. With there slow FP which isn't instant.
  • Have had a battle with Cahoot, and now Santander bacause I initially did not make payments into the account for July and August last year as on holiday, then Sort Code error (last digit of code was wrong) stopped a payment in October and subsequent STO being paid into the account, although their online system allowed it to be processed. The payment is still active to prove a point - they send it from Santander, to Cahoot who then send it back to Santander.
At no time have they told me that the payment was not happening Now they have cut all access to accounts and stopped card use, and they have wasted approx 10 hrs of my time on telephone calls passing me from Service to Departments to Payments to Credit and after speaking to 8 people, having received letters that are conflicting and inviting me to refer it to Ombudsman they will not revive the account. All for a paltry £235 pound overdrawn account, now down to £160 as I deliberately slowing repayments to them.
In addition the account access was down in September on my return so using email contacted them (well it is online account) and told to phone them.
They changed my security questions without asking me for the answers!
Overall - a very frustrating 6 months and now considering going to small claims court for compensation and Ombudsman for service failure.

My main bank is Santander - thinking of moving all to another - Grrrrrr.

What do you think I should do?
  • I can see this happening to a few other online only banks, mainly because normal banks are being more online only and closing branches, in the end all banks will be online only with a few branches dotted around.

Smile for example from the co-op, it offers exactly the same as the co op so what is the point of it, you might as well just go with the co op.
