MET PCN @ McDonalds - Have Appealed

Hi guys,
I rec'd a PCN from MET Parking services, for overstaying the 90mins @ a McDonalds car park.
They asked for me to pay £50 in 14 days or £100 thereafter.
After I did all my home work, I wrote up my appeal to them pointing out all the valid reasons as set out on the numerous appeals I have seen on here and i sent it in 28 days.
They have rejected the appeal, which i knew they would. They have provided me with a POPLA code as i requested.
I will now write to POPLA.
But, in the meantime, what has startled me, is the very strong response from the MET.
In the reply letter they have sent, they have rejected my appeal because:
T&C's of car park use clearly sign posted.
Prominently displayed.
90 maximum stay for mcdonalds customers.
Sufficient number of signs.
Drivers responsibilty to check.
car park is on private land.
signage and ANPR meet BPA guidelines.
Signage states drivers are in contractual agreement once in car park.
PCN issued due to breach of contract.
Under law of contract, have entered contract with MET not maccys.
Now, all that, is that something i should be cautious of, or is it just intimidating bully tactics to make everything sound very legitimate on their side and make people pay up?
I have every intention to appeal to POPLA, but the response from the MET have just startled me a little, so your advice will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

Obviously the newbies thread helps, but search the POPLA DECISIONS thread as well for MET or McDonalds.0

Utter cobblers. Don't even think about their reply. Appeal using the How To Win At POPLA (post 3 of the NEWBIES thread) and pick one that best suits your case. If there is already one there for Met and McD' as GD has already mentioned, use that one.
Check the POPLA code is genuine at the parking cowboys website.
Use all the points, don't edit anything out because you think it might not be valid. You challenge everything and make the PPC prove otherwise. They can't and will therefore lose on no GPEOL and it will cost them money.
Worry ye not, get reading, post your draft appeal here if you want the experts to have a look at it, submit, and wait for your win.
Have you complaine to McD's yet? You should do that as well and tell them you won't give them your custom again if they won't cancel.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Thank you fruitcake, thats exactly the reassurance i was looking for.
The response from MET was pretty stern and hard hitting, anyone reading the letter would be intimidated.
I will write up my POPLA, now that I have stopped worrying
After reading that Mcdonalds won't really do anything in relation to the PCN, i haven't bothered approaching them, but what i do know is i won't be going back!0 -
Chances are that Met will not even bother submitting any evidence to POPLA once they see yours .... Meaning a slam dunk in your favour.
Happens to me every time .... :j:j:jThe word "gullible" isn't in the dictionaryTickets: 19 [cancelled: 18, paid: 0, pending: 1]
PPC Appeals: 8 [accepted: 2, rejected: 5, pending: 1]
POPLA: 4 [accepted: 4, rejected: 0, pending: 0]0 -
tell mcdonalds that unless they call off their agents, met parking you will be charging mc donalds your expenses and costs, including that for your time.
keep a record of the time you are spending on this including any re search etc, and make sure that mcdonalds know that this is your intention.
Do not be extravegant, be realistic, evrn if your costs are under £10 claim them back. From the Plain Language Commission:

Thank you everyone for your advice and reassurance.
That was the whole purpose of me coming onto here.
The reply from MET was very fancy pancy paperwork with signage and maps, and all their evidence. It just made me think, how far will they go with this to fight their corner?
I will also approach McDonald's now after your advice, obviously keeping the costs realistic to put pressure on to them and let them know of my dissatisfaction.
Thank you for your input everyone I feel much more confident now0
