AOMEI backupper, anyone help?

i've had to do a system restore this afternoon for the 1st time using backupper. i've obviously mis-understood the info on their website as i thought it wouldn't affect my documents/files, but everything after the restore date was missing.
fortunately i'd done a file backup yesterday, so i've restored that & i've obviously done something wrong when i've backed up as i've lost about 50% of my info.
when doing a file backup, i thought i was asking it to copy everything on drive C, but i can't have. it's odd though, there's 3 months worth of info missing from a few months ago, but later info up to this week is there ok, seems pretty random in what's there & what isn't.
can anyone point me in the direction of what i might have done wrong when doing file backups? or, suggest an extremely simple & easy to use backup utility that will just copy all files/documents etc. on drive C.
i'm not too tech savvy, so simple terms please

Can't answer you, but since there have been no replies, you could look at youtube.
Many people successfully use Macrium Reflect Free, however for some that is even too difficult and possibly Redo Backup and Recovery is better0 -
I use Aomei backupper but to do images of my whole system rather than individual files and folders. That takes about 45 mins from start to finish and about 20mins to restore the system should I have the need.
Without knowing the exact step by step procedure you followed it's a difficult question to answer. Did you put the question to aomei support? Might be worth asking them to possibly explain what happened.0
