    Good morning and... Happy New Year!:):) ...And welcome to... a near rant:rotfl::rotfl: - just had the moment of the New Year 'ruined' for me - why is BBC1 running about 10 seconds too slow?:mad::rotfl: Which is nothing new I suppose for BBC1:rotfl::rotfl:. (The time we spend waiting for them minutes after scheduled starts...anyway...) I just found that BBC1 (and BBC News) appear to be running in delay, despite being captioned "LIVE":eek:. I noticed, as my clock reached midnight, and yet the bongs had yet to start. So that the New Year started with a split-second of ambience and then a woman counting down from 10 to 1 before the first "bong" at about 10 seconds past 12:(. I've no idea why they are apparently not live (digital TV usually seems to be about four seconds delay before it reaches us, the viewers, but never as much as 10 seconds) - perhaps they were trying to stop someone internet-bombing them with a few 'naughty' words or something during the 'public interview' sections (spoilsports:p). I've just checked if my clock is correctly synchronised, and it is. I know that Big Ben with the bongs is not a completely accurate time-keeper and doesn't always bong exactly on the hour - sometimes a second or two either side - but, even so, that's quite alright but ten seconds is not!:rotfl: The New Year does not start with a countdown, it starts with the bongs - I insist:p:rotfl:.

    I do not know whether Sky is also in delay - I just turned over to there to see if, following the last bong, there would then be further bongs on the BBC television - unfortunately I had trouble with the remote control playing up and missed the moment. So, there we are - sorry to ruin it for everyone by revealing that, if you were watching BBC1 (outside Scotland at least), when you thought it was midnight and the New Year with the Ben and the bongs, in fact it was already New Year and the bongs started about ten seconds late:p:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

    There you go - like it, not like it, the New Year 2015 starts off with a rant:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

    Good day and Ha---ppppppy New Year!!:D:D:T:A:rotfl:

    You always know I am a character anyway...:rotfl::rotfl::cool:

    ::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: it was also noted in my household ;) Happy new year savvy

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I wonder whom by;)(:rotfl:)?

    I thought something was amiss when the Ben chimes seemed to start rather much closer to twelve than my liking:rotfl:. Anyway, move on...:cool::D:rotfl:

    (I've already said "Happy New Year", to everyone, in general, so I'm not going to say it again, to you, specifically...

    Oh, alright then. Happy New Year!:A And deliver my best wishes to DS2 (or whatever number, you know which I mean, I always forget.) Will the equilibrium now right itself I wonder, at 38 minutes and 9 seconds past 12 (that's nine seconds BBC, possibly Sky and everyone else, not 59 past 37:rotfl::rotfl:) as at the time of me pressing "Submit reply"?
