(25 and counting:) ... thanks for all the suggestions:T)
Elite New Year Resolutions
1. Never ever throw a coupon away until it has actually gone out of date.
2. Move quickly when there's a glitch. There's more chance it won't work the longer you dilly dally
3. Grab more coupons than you ever think you'll need
4. While its working grab as many as you need /want
5. Monitor your stash regularly. Watch out for mice weevils and bugs
6. Don't lurk - Stay in touch with the thread so you don't miss out on any bargains.
7. Rotate your stock regularly ensuring your BB dates are in the right order......particularly with yoghurts in the fridge.
8. Only buy what you need. It's not money saving to find rotten food under your bed
9. If it's cheap enough and it will store safely buy plenty. If you won't use it be generous and gift to the food banks.
10. If you have coupons you're not going to use, recycle them or take them to a supermarket and hand out to people buying the products or leave them on the products concerned for others to find and use
11. Stand your ground in the supermarket when you know you are right. And don't be afraid to complain to CS or take it further with head office when you know you are in the right ... but always be polite. But don't be afraid to admit it if you discover you are in the wrong.
12. Don't forget the cashback sites.
13. Search discount codes before making any purchase.
14. Familiarise yourself with the supermarket's T&Cs for if and when you get trouted.
15. Sign up for manufacturer's email newsletters and/or FB 'like' them if they offer MOCs.
16. Learn how to distinguish an instore glitch from an online one.
17. Develop the willpower to avoid spending on glitches you don't really want. Don't be guilty of wasting money on things you don't need and don't want - just because it's glitching or seems an irresistible deal.Only take advantage of glitches/deals on things you'd normally buy and/or things which are better than free.
18. Think more carefully about your fillers. Do you really need a carrierbag-full of 10p sweets? It's only a bargain if you need/use/want it.
19. Keep a small notebook recording how much you've saved, so at the end of the year you can total it up and laugh.
20. Always have your coupons/MOCs/PPs/APGs with you at all times ... you never know when the opportunity might arise to use them.
21. Don't be ashamed of a muggle shop - we can't be MSE Elite all the time.
22. Be flexible with your menus depending what you can get in the whoopsie run.
23. Be a litter picker - salvage every receipt you find blowing in the wind - it might give you an APG, have something with cashback on or contain the next big glitch item.
24. Remember to take transport costs into consideration.
25. When you feel the urge to help others dear to you save money, after 3 attempts of explaining cashback/coupons/apg's/comparison sites etc etc and you are still getting the glazed eye look whilst their minds are saying "Poor dear, she's finally lost her marbles" - GIVE UP.'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'
