    Morning all.

Its Jools Holland for us tonight, just a family night and the kids stay up.

Need to get lots of cleaning done here. I am taking my hubby away for the weekend for a surprise for his 50th. We haven't had 2 nights away together since my children were born, so need to get house cleaned as my mother will be staying here and minding my children.

Good morning 😢 am not feeling too good this morning and do not think I will make it to either of the 2 NYE parties I have been invited to.I think I shall take VT advise and stay put in bed:A
Hope you are feeling a little better QOC

Wish I could come and give you a hug Nanny, hate to hear of people feeling ill, especially the matriarch of the thread xx

Should we start at staying in list?

Add me (can honestly say I can't ever remember being out on NYE..the last messy one was the Sat night Princess Di died)

We used to go out to a hogmonay party some scots friends of ours have, but they moved outside of walking distance, and they have so many of their relatives over there is barely any floor space left to sleep on :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It is nice curling up in the warm with the one you love and just relaxing :D

If anyone fancies an interesting read, this is quite a thought provoking thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5125747
Some very eloquent posts and much food for thought. Although I'm not a spendthrift, I am guilty of glitch chasing just for the sport, even if it's something I don't need, such as this morning's heroes. This might give me a better focus I think.

I was the 100th person to thank this post.

Thanks hg.......some good reading and yes ....thought provoking:T

Yes we have traditions...stranger - hopefully tall dark and handsome and not too strange :rotfl:bringing in coal at midnight to be greeted with spice cake and money:cool:
I get very excited about the start of a new year....it's like a clean slate ready to be written upon.

Challenges, resolutions, hopes and dreams......all exciting stuff:T

My tall dark strange is oldest child as he is working tonight, otherwise will be marmalade cat :rotfl:

Yes I like a new year too. Fee free overpayment to mortgage, trip to New York to book. Driving lessons for little miss. Lots of college work and exams
