Arrggg, every xmas I get a box of red wine from a very generous relative from laithwaites wine. Every year there is 2 bottles of 'bombadier' in it. Lovely wine, and bloody strong (14.5%) but this year, instead of that, they have just put 4 bottles of the worst wine of the box in. Come on Laithwaites, sort it out!! :p

I would not dream of driving a car without knowing the basics and I wouldn't let my kids do either. Have been stuck too often without a mobile signal and a flat tyre. I have taught my son how to change a tyre, check oil/water/anti-freeze..... as I was taught by my Dad. Not personal at all but the AA have better things to do than come out to minor things than people can easily do for themselves.
I was left for 6 hours at services with 3 little uns years ago when I had a genuine breakdown. 6 out of the available mechanics in the area were changing wheels and dealing with people who had no oil in their engines :( I got home 9 hours later :(
Needless to say I'm not with the AA anymore but they are for emergencies not for general maintenance
i pay them a fortune for relay homestart & have only called them once to change a tyre when it burst on a motoway in the snow. it would have been too dangerous for me to do it myself even if i had the strength to do it :o
you should always tell them if you have young children or children with disabilities as they prioritise you as they are considered more vulnerable
