Well done TRULYMADLY, that looks like a neat bargain!

The weekend is almost up. The Apprentice finishes tonight and it's back to work tomorrow. Boohoo. I guess most of you are now off for a week or two? Hope you all have a fabulous week off with no early starts.

It was nearly Christmas and there was much work still to do at the North Pole. Santa seemed busier than usual and was starting to feel a little bit stressed. Mrs Claus had been enjoying a few nights out with the girls and the fridge and freezer were bare. Santa decided that he would have to take the reindeer by the antlers and step in to make sure that Christmas Day was as special as ever.

"I'm off to Adsa", he told Mrs Claus " and I'm going to buy everything we need in one single shopping trip. It will save time and money. Just to make sure we leave nothing out, I will buy one of everything they sell in the store. We need lots of spirits and wine, not forgetting Peroni for the Head Elf and ginger wine for Grandma Claus. I'll buy mince pies, Christmas cake and Christmas pudding. Oh yes.....brandy sauce, Yule logs, nuts and crackers. Tinsel, dried fruit and goose fat.....in fact everything we will need for a perfect Christmas lunch."

"Can you buy a Christmas table runner too" shouted Mrs Claus as Santa headed out the door.

The journey was long and a bit tedious but Santa arrived at Adsa in good time and proceeded to add one of every single item that Adsa sold, taking particular care not to leave out any of the Christmas goodies.

(Little did TM realise who she was rubbing shoulders with in the seasonal aisle:cool:)

With his shopping complete, Santa headed outside. Before he knew what was happening, a gust of wind blew The Longest Ever Receipt out of his hand and took it up into the sky like a ribbon. It swirled and twirled in the wind. Oblivious to this, Santa pushed his overladen trolley to his sleigh to begin the journey north.

At that very moment, TM headed out of the store to see The Longest Ever Receipt, fly past her nose and up into the air. She quickly turned to catch it and .........it disappeared........completely:o

    She felt sad:o.

However to her amazement, as she was unloading her shopping, what should she find between her carrier bags but The Longest Ever Receipt :T

She gazed at The Longest Ever Receipt and wondered how someone could spend that much in Adsa:eek: there was everything there for the perfect Christmas. There were cheese boards, cranberry sauce, little sausages even shot glasses and a £7 Christmas Table Runner.

How kind of Santa to leave such a valuable comparison for the Elite:):santa2::xmassmile:xmassign::snow_grin:rudolf:

    Brilliant !

It will even fly to you, it seems! x

  • Lurpak 500g is 2 for £5 in A from tomorrow, single price £3.25. Buy 2 and APG sees £6.50 so returns £2.90 against T as 2 for £4 there. Net cost £2.10 for 2. Check this link after midnight and it should have updated to fully show offer
    http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/landing/home.shtml?cmpid=ahc-_-ghs-d1-_-asdacom-dsk-_-hp#/promotion/ls84336
Comparison should work on all spreadable butter but not baking. Shop needs to be paid for instore between midnight and 6am as APG seems to update between 6-9am and will pick up multi after that

    Rubbish - was £1.70 bogo'f' only a few months ago:rotfl::rotfl:.

Ok, just popped in to try a first attempt at M vs Aldi, can't really tell you what has narrowly missed out (due to Avs one of its competitors with 10% being slightly cheaper)*, as fed up of all this long-winded checking, although I will rejuvenate at some point no doubt!

Was originally going to be a list of all I could find that was (supposedly) comparable between M and Aldi, regardless of whether Aldi were cheaper than M or more expensive, for you then to keep track of those items you wanted, but I ended up just extracting the ones where Aldi is, supposedly, according to msm:eek:, cheaper - seems like a lot of the Aldi lower prices, including the ones that have crossed out previous price and new lower price, are still valid now like they were the two months or so ago when I saved the whole lot in msm. An idle moment leads me to bringing out that as a list now.

I'm off - fed up of Savvy shopping:rotfl::rotfl:!

*Except that the Black Sheep Ale has only made it because apparently not available in T, whilst other ales, that are £1.25 in T are Avs T. Just to explain, that where Sada and Aldi are same price and both the cheapest, AND where A is more than 10% cheaper than everywhere comparable on the APG, then it does make the Mvs Aldi list - could also be Mvs Sada, or could be buy in Sada straight, versus anywhere that is N/A if anywhere else is. If Sada is cheaper than Aldi, even if only by a penny, then I don't think I've put it onto Mvs Aldi. Near misses such as Iceberg Lettuce maybe M 49p vs Aldi 45p, but Avs T or M at 49p and ten per cent is very oh so slightly cheaper (and neither of them as good as vs T's old 2 for 60p? offer, not very keen on buying Iceberg Lettuce ever since lol:rotfl:). None of this takes into account Lidl, which could be cheaper but is not on msm, and I don't have capacity to do price checks there, so I don't know anything about their prices.

I think I was there last year between 1 and 2 Elaine.......I'm hoping to finish work early and make my way there. If I get there first I'll put extra in my trolley and if you don't show we will just have to eat it:rotfl:

Brilliant. I always intend to go out Xmas Eve but never usually get around to it. I may forget something this year so I can nip out. I have quite a bit of room in my freezer this year. Shame there are no MOCs. I do not think I have been to T since I met you there last time.
