my dd heater broke just inside the guarantee, but the company said it has a warranty instead, and she has to pay for it to be returned to them and back to her so it would be cheaper to buy a new one anyone know if this is true

    Hi Rhos
No, not true. Whoever sold it to her is responsible. They can rectify it by refunding, replacing or offering a repair. If they choose to offer a repair then your daughter shouldn't have to pay the transport costs. It's for them to sort that out with the manufacturer.
The sellers responsibility comes before any guarantee or warranty. Blaggers!
Have her tell them she will contact your local Trading Standards if they won't budge.

Out of interest, why do they ask for the name and address of your employer? I have put my own office address previously to see what would happen and have not been contacted - could they cintact HR as I suspect work would not be obliged to provide salary details anyway (and employer does not appear on the credit report, unless I have missed it?).

    Just curious.

    Thanks

they only want to know that you are employed in the UK, resident etc ..they can't check and HR would be breaking the DP act if they told them anything ;)

Sainsburys have some good reductions on men and women's Christmas clothing. I bought a onesie for £5.40 reduced from £18  , pack of 3 women's Christmas socks £2 from £4. They had men's tracksuit bottoms for £5 and £6 and pjs ( womens ) half price :)

I had a £125 gift card from moving my bank to M&S, it will take me a long time to use that. My Dad wanted to get my Mum a £20 M&S voucher for Xmas so he gave me the cash and I used my gift card to get the smaller gift card.

Understood - I thought you had discovered a cashing out opportunity :).

Ah well, still in search of the holy grail of cashing out giftcards back to cash easily.
