Lost wifi password - who to contact to solve the problem?

Hi all,
If this is a thicko's question, please forgive me...
My Dad has broadband at home using Plusnet. He has one PC connected to his router via Ethernet cable and the modem is wifi enabled. He doesn't use wifi for anything at home at the moment but would like to get a tablet/Sky on-demand etc so knowing the wifi password is essential to set these up.
He hasn't the foggiest what his wifi password is (or the broadband password for his PC come to that!). Who would I contact to find out what the password(s) are? Would it be Plusnet themselves?
Sorry for being thick...
Thanks for any advice

Hi,
you should find the password on the bottom of the router.0 -
if not changed from default, it's probably on a sticker on the underside of the router. If no joy there, log into the router's interface and change it to whatever you want
......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Ah yes, of course! Will get him to check under the router.
To log in to the router's innards, is it usually something like:
http:/192.168.1.1 ?
Thanks againIn deep...0 -
It will be whatever the IP address of the router is, and there are 2 forward slashes after the colon.Ah yes, of course! Will get him to check under the router.

Thanks againUndersteer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
yes, it is... if you google the make & model of the router you'll get the specifics...if it was supplied by plusnet check their help pages and you should find the default username & password to log in to it (probably summat like admin & admin, or similar)......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Cheers for the pointers. Checked the modem and there is an SSID an password on the underside so this should work (assuming no one's changed it!)
Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the obivous!

You can change the wifi password by logging onto the router using a pc/computer thats connected up to the router with a cable.
I would suggest that you have a hard paper copy of all your settings including usernames, passwords and the technical stuff thats used with the router ( connection type and so on ) filed away somewhere safe.0
