I have a dear friend of 76 yrs old,
She purchased a bed from a company called Home solutions mobility. The bed had all the spiel multizone reflexion????? blah blah...
This bed was over £1000 and the salesman came to the house with all the gimics & gadgets unfortunately I was on holiday at the time.
Bed was delivered on time but there was an issue with the head board on delivery it basically doesn't fit the bed- if you put the head board on the mattress hangs off the edge of the bed but if you don't put it on your pillows fall off the bed.
Now this issue was raised on delivery, unfortunately I wasn't there and she was advised that someone would contact her in regard to it..
now despite several phone calls & promises by a very polite receptionist that someone will phone back, we still have a head board we cant attach to the bed its propped up between a chair & the bed.
Now this lovely lady has had a knee replacement op and is having trouble getting about and obviously the bed situation is not ideal.
so my question is do mobility sales companies have a governing body or how best to proceed with the complaint- the bed itself is good (£1000 good no but.) the issue is the head board.
any advice/help would be greatly received.

How long is it since the bed was delivered?
The headboard is part of the bed as it was sold to her.
At the very least, a discount due to the partially functioning bed should be available.
At the most - if it's not suitable for the purpose it was sold for - a complete refund.0 -

Have you tried Trading Standards? They may be able to help more as it sounds to me like the bed "isn't fit for purpose" IE she can't use it properly.0

Do you actually have the paperwork?
Have you read the guarantee in detail?
Are there alternative headboards which would fit?
Depending on stuff, it may be possible to make a claim in the small claims court for the cost of rectifying the situation.
This might be the costs of someone to adjust the bed, or the headboard, or to supply a new headboard or alternative solution.
Trading standards in addition - if the bed is not as described by the salesperson.
First step would be to send them a letter - recorded delivery - giving them 21 days to sort it - or you will take further action of either getting a custom headboard made to fit - or a new bed sourced, for which you will claim in the small claims court.0
