Landlords fire risk assessment

Am a landlord in a hosue multi ownership with a management committeee.

had a professional external fire risk assessment done 12 months ago-all fine.

Does anyone know if there is a legal requirement to do such assessments annually ?
If not anually-is there a specified timescale ?

won't bore you with details but there is a bit of a debate as to whether the property is correctly classified as a hmo.
if it were to be the case that it is not a hmo-does that affect the timescale/requirment in which to get fire risk assessments done .

thanks for antcipated assistance on this one

Has anything changed in the last 12 months ?
Is the property still safe, do you check the mains wired fire/smoke alarms say once a month ?
Fire doors, fire fighting equipment ( fire blanket, extinguisher, fire escape route, turn locks on exit doors etc)
Have you got an escape plan ?
  • Whats the review date on the professional fire risk assessment?

You could carry it out yourself if you feel competent enough and the risk hasnt increased.
